About the West Campus Agricultural Center (WCAC)

The West Campus Ag Center, located approximately 5 miles from the main campus, is home to the U of A feedlot and is also the site of the majority of the research conducted with beef cattle. 

Professors and students have access to facilities for feed preparation, animal breeding, ultrasound technology, feedlot research, meat science research and genetic research. 

Studies can also be conducted on animals in group pens or individual pens depending on the requirements.

The West Campus Ag Center is staffed year-round by University employees and also has several student employees each year who can either be paid or earn credit for their hours.
